1
Q

What is this ecg showing?

A

normal sinus rhthym

Q

What is the ecg showing?

A

2nd degree heart block: mobitz -II

characterized by iregular R-R interval

rhythm interpretation: patient will need a pacemaker, and not eligible for exercise or PT that day

Q

interpert this ECG

A

first degree AV block

prolonged P-R interval

signals from atra to ventricle is delayed, causing an increased delay between atra and ventricular depolarization

Q

PT’s response to first degree AV block

A

continue to monitor vitals
consutls with PCP about medications
observation of worsening heart block
often benign

Q

What is the ECG

A

premature ventricular contraction - uniform

presence of ectopic focus occuring in ventricular walls

fires permaturely before the SA node

7
Q

is premature ventricular contraction a regular or irregular heart rhythm?

A

irregular

can be life theatening if; triplets are present, more the 6 PVC’s in 1 minute (send to er)

Q

Interpert this ECG

A

third degree heart block

rhythm is regular

no relationship between the P and QRS waves, P to P intervalsare regular but no relationship to QRS complexes

10
Q

Why is this ecg sinus tachycardia (main indictors)

A

indicated by a heart rate greater than 100 beats per minute, along with a normal, upright P wave in lead II preceding every QRS complex. The P wave should be normal in morphology and consistent, indicating the heart’s natural pacemaker (the sinus node) is firing at an increased rate.

11
Q

interpert this ecg

A

sinus bradycardia

rate: 39 bpm

regular rhythm- intervals are normal, QRS is identical, P waves symmetrical

12
Q

intepret ecg

A

ventricular fibrillation

rate: 430 bpm

lower ventricles are quivering and movely rapidley and uncoordinated. preventing heart from pumping bloodeffectively. next stage = cardiac death

16
Q
A

2nd degree AV heart block (mobitz-1 or wenkebach)

17
Q

is 2nd degree AV heart block (mobitz 1 or wenkebach) a regular or irregular rhythm?

A

irregular

cause - infarction (LAD), P wave progressively gets longer until it skips QRS

18
Q

What is this rhythm

A

atrial fibrillation

atria quivers quickly and randomly

no waves before QRS comlex with a very irregular HR Rate: 140 bpm

19
Q

is atrial fibrillation a red flag?

A

no, yellow flag

pt response:
- can by asymptomtic, watch for overexertion during exercise, and check vitals regularly

symptoms: fast HR, chest pain, SOB, fatigue, dizziness

20
Q

What is this rhythm

A

atrial flutter

HR range: 250-400 bpm

p waves have an identical “sawtooth” pattern, more than 1 P wave fore very QRS, R-R interval may vary due to abnormal P:QRS ratio

21
Q

what can atrial flutter lead to?

A

atrial fibrillation

22
Q

PT response to atrial flutter

A

hold off on Pt - they may feel faint, could lead to an embolism (PE or stroke)
