Emer Elec Flashcards
(9 cards)
What is the significance of the red FAULT illuminating on the RAT & EMER GEN light?
AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2 are lost, and the emergency generator is not supplying power
When would the red FAULT light on the RAT & EMER GEN light normally illuminate?
When the RAT is deployed but the emergency generator is not yet supplying power (approx. 8 seconds delay)
How can the RAT be deployed?
Manually by pressing MAN ON on EMER ELEC PWR panel or RAT MAN ON on HYD panel; automatically by loss of both AC BUS 1 and 2
What is the difference between automatic RAT deployment and manual RAT deployment from the HYD panel?
HYD RAT MAN ON gives only Blue HYD pressure, no electrical generation
After deploying the RAT via HYD panel, how can electrical power be restored?
By pressing the MAN ON pushbutton on the EMER ELEC PWR panel
What does the RAT supply?
Blue Hydraulic System pressure and emergency electrical generator
What would cause the GEN 1 LINE SMOKE light to illuminate?
Smoke detected in avionics ventilation ducting by particle detectors
Aside from the GEN 1 LINE SMOKE light, what are other signs of avionics smoke?
ECAM warning and amber FAULT lights on EXTRACT and BLOWER pushbuttons on VENTILATION panel
If ECAM directs a pilot to select GEN 1 LINE pb sw to OFF, what will be accomplished?
GEN 1 contactor opens; AC BUS 1 powered by GEN 2; GEN 1 powers one fuel pump directly in each wing tank
