Eosinophilic infiltration and oedema of any part of the GI mucosa, gastric antrum and proximal SI are usually involved
What conditions are associated with eosinophillic gastroenteritis?
Asthma
Eczema
Urticaria
Who gets eosinophilic gastroenteritis?
People in their 20s
How does it present?
Abdo pain Nausea Vomiting Upper GI bleed Peripheral eosinophilia
How is it diagnosed?
Endoscopic biopsy
Radiology can demonstrate mass lesions
Treatment?
Corticosteroids for widespread infiltration
Especially for peripheral eosinophilia
