Informed consent
Where ppts are able to make an informed judgement about whether to take part in the experiment or not.
Told aims of study
(should be told anything not told in beginning told after study to stop potential harm)
Deception
Intent to mislead/withhold information of the study
Not allow withdrawal from study/not explain that they can
Right to withdraw
Ppts can leave the study if become uncomfortable with it and can request for their data to be removed from the research.
Protection from harm
Avoid risks greater than everyday ones.
Researchers should mind vulnerable ppts like children or people with mental illnesses.
Confidentiality
Not sharing personal information to the public
If sensitive info come from the research dont have to be shared to the public with a name. (Depressed people having feelings of self harm can be on a statistic but should not be named).
