Q

what does vaccinations involve ?

A

injecting small amounts of dead or inactive pathogens. These carry antigens which cause your body to produce antibodies to attack them even if pathogen is harmless example MMR vaccine weakens Measles and other viruses

If live pathogens of the same type appear after that , WBC rapidly mass produce antibodies to kill off pathogen

Q

pros of vaccination

A

helped control communicable diseases that were once common in the UK ( small pox no longer occurs and polio infections fallen by 99% )

Big outbreaks of disease epidemics can be prevented if large % of population is vaccinated . People who are not vaccinated are less likely to catch disease so fewer people able to pass it on. But if small % of population is vaccinated = disease spread quickly
