Commodification of Gender
girls and women are generally expected to dress in typically feminine ways and be polite, accommodating, and nurturing. Men are generally expected to be strong, aggressive, and bold.
Gender Ideals
to achieve broadly equal opportunities and outcomes for women and men
Gender in the Workplace
the process of teaching individuals how to behave under the social expectations of their gender
Gender Socialization
dislike of or prejudice against gay people
Homophobia
a psychological and sociological term for the exaggeration of male stereotypical behavior, such as an emphasis on physical strength, aggression, and human male sexuality
Hypermasculinity
a theory in sociology which refers to the opportunities each individual has to improve their quality of life. The concept was introduced by German sociologist Max Weber in the 1920s.
