Fire Water System Flashcards

1
Q

How does a deluge system work in the Fire Water System?

A
  • The water pressure that will go through deluge valve will hold the deluge valve shut at the valve operator
  • to activate the system the pressure must be bled off and the deluge valve will open

Q

What will actuate the fire water pumps 0-3 and 0-4?

What will actuate the fire water pumps 0-1 and 0-2?

A
  • fire water pressure drops below 140 psig with time delay
    • .15 sec 0-3
    • 5 sec 0-4
  • fire water pressure drops below 75 psig with time delay

Q

What subsystems exist in fire water system?

What do those subsystems protect?

what is source of water to those subsystems?

A

Plant Yard Loop

  • around main power block
  • plant interior loop
    • Raw wtr resv
    • patton flats
    • interior loop

Plant Interior system

  • inside power block (seismic qual)
  • b/u cooling CCP
    • yard loop (Raw)
    • FWST (pmp 0-1 , 0-2)
    • ASW/Cond via dies pmps

Patton Flats

  • outside power block
  • b/u for Plant yard loop
    • FWST 0-2 (FWP 0-3, 0-4)

Q

What are the jockey pumps (0-1 and 0-2) supplying water to?

Which fire water pumps have feature to lock in contacts and prevent tripping due to electrical logic?

A

to patton flats (South site fire water system) maintaining pressure ~ 150 psig to prevent cycling of pumps 0-3 and 0-4

FWP 0-1 and 0-2
