A

its location between the Thames and Cherwell rivers makes it prone to flooding. which cause major disruptions, including evacuations, road and rail closures, and economic damage by limiting work, services and tourism.

A

divert water away from the more densely populated areas and protect the city centre by :

reusing excavated material to build new flood walls and embankments to protect areas that remain at risk

creating areas of wetland, woodland and floodplain meadow to slow runoff and decrease peak discharge.
