Gender

Behavioral differences between males and females that re culturally based and socially learned
- not reducible to biological differences
- Sex = biological difference
- Influenced by family, religion, peers, mass media, and schools
- sex= gender = cis-gender

Feminism

First wave: 1920s, suffrage
Second Wave: 1950/60-90 feminist mystique (femininity stereotypes were bad for women)
Third Wave: 90s-present, feminist and make whatever choices you want
