I think my father would agree that too, act one
Capitalist Gerald shows how similar his family beliefs are the balance beliefs that the upper-class business owner should have lower costs and higher prices. Of course the actual workers would see none of this profit. This present is Gerald as entitled. He feels he does a special treatment wealthy upper-class man. With no social responsibility, he agrees with the capitalistic ideals as does his father
This also shows the audience that Gerald is on the villain side of the story at the start and does not care about individuals
I didn’t feel about her as she felt about me, at two
Selfish upper-class Gerald openly admits that he did not really have feelings for either but used her for a sexual relationship and kept her as his mistress Chris does this to show up cost people would take what they wanted regardless of the impact on others or the emotional strain it could take
Remorseless and vain Gerald does not regret his actions or truly feel sorry for how he treated Eva instead he sees himself as heroic because he rescued Eva and gave her money
What about this ring? At three.
Learn nothing even though Sheila changes dramatically in the play and both her engagement to jail because she feels like she does not know him proves that he has not changed at all by the end he offered Sheila the engagement ring back suggesting that he wants to forget about everything that happenedI’m doing their lives as normal. He expects you to agree and pretend that the whole or deal with the inspector has not happened that it wasn’t unpleasant experience there’s also proof he has not learnt anything from the story.
