The rules of a patriarchal society are more important than the rules of social standing.

Mrs Birling highlights the agenda difference in pre-war Britain women genuinely had much less power and place in society that meant upper women had to live by the rules of men. Mrs Birling highlights this by trying to teach her daughter about the expectations for women.

Attica Mrs Burling being of higher social class understands the rules of pre-war etiquette very well she scold her husband for discussing business while they’re celebrating her daughter and that she is present society and reputation. Mrs Burton is obsessed with how she not by others she does not want to risk for thinking that they do not know how to behave properly in society because thiscould damage the Berlins reputation woman she also disapprove of Mr Burling mentioning business matters in front of Sheila this is because it was not considered appropriate to discuss business with women who are thought to be too fragile and unintelligent and emotionally unstable to take part in such conversations

Family Mrs Berlin focuses on how her family should behave around other people. She feels that Sheila should not be exposed to the nasty reality of the tale of she tries to protect Sheila from the harsh truths of life the class dynamics. This suggests that the other costed their best to avoid recognising the hardships of working class people. These harsh truths are considered inappropriate for Sheila. Mrs. Berlin is happy for Eva to experience them firsthand because she is lower class.

She’s almost smoke in this statement because she mocks the others for answering spectacles questions truthfully in some cases she mocks people for feeling the guilt he was trying toget out of them again. This emphasise her selfish, uncaring and cold nature.
