40 CFR 300.125 established NRC as the single point of contact for all pollution and hazardous material incident reporting
primary contact for oil/hazmat spills,radiological/biological releases, weapons of mass destr incident, terrorism, suspicious activity, railroad and major traffic incidents, aviation and maritime incidents

What are human requirements and precautions in regards to potable water during a disaster?

A

victims need 3-6 gallons of potable water per day
should be either boiled 1-2 mins
bleached - 6-8 drops to 1 gallon, 20 mins contact time
- 1 pint to 1000 gallons, 30 min contact time
-Cl should be doubled if turbid or colored
iodine - 2% tincture, 8 drops to 1 qt clear water with 30 min contact time. use caution as iodine is toxic
