What is the difference between communicable and non-communicable diseases?

A
  • Communicable disease eg TB and Flu are caused by pathogens that can be spread from one person to another.
  • Non-communicable diseases cannot be transmitted from one person to another, eg heart disease and arthritis

How can different diseases interact?

A
  • defects in the immune system mean the individual is more likely to suffer from infectious disease
  • viruses living in cells can be trigger for cancer
  • immune reactions caused by a pathogen can trigger allergies , eg skin rashes and asthma

A

1-Bening tumours stay in one place, do not invade others organs or tissues
2-Malignant tumours can spread around the body in the blood and lymphatic system and invade other organs
