Inside bacteria Flashcards
(5 cards)
What are the common parts of a bacterial cell?
Cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, plasmid DNA, chromosomal DNA, and flagellum.
What are the functions of common parts of bacteria?
Cell wall gives structure, plasmid DNA carries extra genes, flagellum helps movement, cytoplasm supports chemical processes.
Why are bacteria classified as prokaryotic?
Because they lack a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
How do you change numbers to and from standard form?
Move the decimal point to create a number between 1 and 10, multiplying by a power of 10.
How are eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells different?
Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus and organelles; prokaryotic cells do not.
