Essentially, intersectionality is the understanding that different aspects of a person’s social and political identities – like their race, gender, class, sexual orientation, disability, age, ethnicity, etc. – don’t exist in isolation. Instead, they overlap and intersect to create unique modes of discrimination and privilege.
