What is risk?

A
  • The probability that a hazard will be activated and produces injury or property damage.
  • The quantifiable likelihood of loss or less than expected returns
  • It can be two fold: frequency and severity
    l. ) the frequency that a negative situation will occur
    ll.) the severity of injury or damage if the hazard is activated

· To reduce costs to the company by reducing accidents,
injuries and illnesses, and insurance premium
