How did Hayashi et al., make mice from stem cells?
They took mESCs and miPSCs and mixed them in a petri dish.
This made Primordial germ cell like cells. When these were mixed with gonadal cells this created an rOvary.
This rOvary is inserted under the ovarian bursa. Sperm then fertilised this making a mouse baby
How did Hikabe et al., make mice from stem cells?
They mixed mouse embryonic stem cells with mouse induced pluripotent stem cells.
This created primordial germ cell like cells which were mixed with gonadal cells to create the rOvary.
This ovary was then fertilised directly with sperm to make a mouse baby.
How did Yoshino et al., make a mouse from stem cells?
They mixed mouse embryonic stem cells with mouse induced pluripotent stems cells which created primordial germ cell like cells and fetal ovarian somatic cell-like cells. These when mixed made an rOvary.
This rOvary can be fertilised directly with sperm to make a mouse.
Have human induced pluripotent stem cells formed oogonia like cells in vitro?
Yes
