How does ovulation occur?

A

FSH causes follicle growth. The large follicle secretes lots of oestrogen causing the LH surge and ovulation.
The corpus luteum released the egg and secretes progesterone to maintain the endometrium.

Corpus luteum degrades and progesterone drops causing menstrual cycle and endometrium shedding
