1. I undertook an RPI rent review for a retail park tenant in Margate.
2. I made note of the definitions in the lease as well as the calculation.
3. I completed the calculation and sent to the client and the tenant for approval.
4. Both parties approved and this was sent to the solicitor to document and i billed the back rent to the tenant.

1. Leisure occupier in Brighton said they wanted to return their keys and terminate the lease.
2. I spoke to the tenant and they established that they could no longer afford the costs of operating a business and no longer wanted to occupy this unit, they had built up arrears also.
3. The next day they handed their keys into the management suite. I wrote a letter to them and said that we now have possession but i stated that this did not constitute forfeiture or surrender of the lease. I stated that we required them for security and health and safety purposes.
4. My client wanted to collect some of the arrears but i stated that they would not be in a position to pay but that they had a rent deposit which we could use.
5. I then wrote a second letter stating that we would draw down on the rent deposit.
