Lateral Aspect of cerebral hemisphere Flashcards
(10 cards)
What is the frontal lobe?
- Located at the front of the brain.
- Important for thinking, planning, and decision-making.
- Includes the precentral gyrus, which controls movement.
What is the parietal lobe?
- Located near the top and back of the brain.
- Helps process sensory information like touch, temperature, and pain.
- Includes the postcentral gyrus, which receives sensory information from the body
What is the temporal lobe?
- Located on the side of the brain, near the ears.
- Important for hearing, memory, and language.
What is the occipital lobe?
- Located at the back of the brain.
- Mainly responsible for processing visual information.
What is the central sulcus?
A groove that separates the frontal lobe from the parietal lobe.
What is the lateral fissure?
A groove that separates the temporal lobe from the frontal and parietal lobes.
What is the central sulcus?
Separates the frontal lobe (front) from the parietal lobe (top middle).
What is the lateral fissure or (sulcus)?
Separates the frontal lobe and parietal lobe (above) from the temporal lobe (below).
What is the parieto-occipital sulcus?
Separates the parietal lobe (top) from the occipital lobe (back), which handles vision.
what is the Imaginary line?
An imaginary line drawn from the parieto-occipital sulcus helps to separate the temporal lobe from the occipital lobe.
