Since most of the paper is cut in a rectangle shape, you must decide if you want your page printed a vertical or Horizontal.
is the vertical or horizontal position in which a page is printed.
Orientation
is a page design in which the shortest side is the top of the page.
Portrait Orientation
is a page design in which the longest side is the top of the page.
Landscape Orientation
REMEMBER:
Pages printed on only side generally have the same margins for every page and the same header/footer information that contains the page number

Facing Pages
is the inside margin of a document with facing pages. it is slightly wider than the outside margin to allow binding space.
Gutter
are odd-numbered pages in a document with facing pages (Front)
Recto Pages
Are even-numbered pages in a document with facing pages (Back)
Verso Pages

One of the problems that inexperience desktop publisher designers have is managing the page arrangements of booklets
the problem occurs because pages that are designed sequentially do not appear in the order in which they were created.

REMEMBER:
The page arrangement of eight-page book actually two sheets of paper printed on both sides (or four pages)
Fortunately, desktop publishing software has a booklet option that takes the guesswork out of the process.
