inversion sprain (fibularis brevis avulsion) or repetitive stress of walking, running, or jumping (jones fx)
Apophysitis of the calcaneus, irregularity of the secondary ossification center of the calcaneus and to care for it as an insertional tendonitis (achilles)
severes disease
What causes severes disease?
occurs during a growth spurt as you have repetitive micro traumas due to tightening of the gastrocnemius and soleus tendon, weak dorsiflexors from repetitive plantarflexion and abnormal foot biomechanics
What are the symptoms for severes disease?
pain in the heel that gets worse with running
Acute rapidly progressive and potentially fatal form of polyneuritis which causes muscle weakness and mild distal sensory loss
guillian barre syndrome
What are the symptoms for guillian barre syndrome?
symmetrical muscle weakness usually appears in the legs first and then extends to the arms and facial nerves 24-72 hours laters
What is the difference between myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia?
myofascial pain syndrome involves mainly muscular pain whereas fibromyalgia includes widespread body pain like headaches and bowel problems
Chronic pain disorder that when pressure is placed on sensitive point in muscles (trigger points), pain is felt in the muscle
myofascial pain syndrome
What causes myofascial pain syndrome?
injury, overuse, and stress related muscle tension
Lateral neck whiplash, stretch injury to the brachial plexus, may be severe enough to rear the plexus nerves and separate the nerve roots from spinal cord
burner stinger
What causes burner stinger?
lateral flexion injury of head and neck
Too much caffeine can cause what?

type 2
What vit deficiency is associated with type 2 diabetes?
vit D
Where does diabetic neuropathy begin?
feet and legs
What are the 4 poly’s of diabetes?
1) diabetic polyneuropathy
2) polyuria
3) polydipsia
4) polyphagia
During ___________, insulin need is diminished, This is due to enhanced insulin binding at receptor sites so that glucose uptake is increased without an increase in insulin
exercise
How does high blood glucose damage capillaries?
atherosclerosis + high BP = rupture
