A
  • Allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, asthma/reactive airway disease/bronchitis
  • Adrenal insufficiency or long-term steroid dependence induced shock
  • Burns potentially involving the airways.

Methylprednisolone Pediatric dose

A
  • Status asthmaticus, anaphylaxis, shock with history of adrenal insufficiency:
    • Loading dose: 2 mg/kg IV/IO slowly or IM (max single dose 60 mg)
    • Maintenance dose: 0.5mg/kg every 6 hours or 1 mg/kg every 12 hours (max total dose 120 mg in 24 hours)
