How to use an optical microscope to view a prepared slide and create a scale?

Answer 2

Place slide on stage (use clips to hold in place)
Select lowest power objective lense
Turn coarse focusing dial until objective lense almost touches the slide.
Look through the eyepiece and use coarse + fine focusing dial until cells are clearly focused
Multiply eyepiece magnification by objective magnification to get total magnification
Place clear plastic ruler over stage and measure in mm - show in drawing on scale bar
