UGC
The big difference between print and video is that multimedia or UGS (stories) are multi-planar and can be laced with many elements such as audio, video, interviews, actuality and graphics, working together on many planes of content (video, audio, music, graphics). They’re dynamic.

Production: HOw will I make the story - How where and when will I tell it?

MOJO story triangle
The Five-Point-Plan, SCRAP, and the 5 Ws and 1 H form the MOJO triangle.
Story bounce
IS a series of unfolding sequences (of information and emotion) each with their own rhythm, designed to affect the viewer at a given point of the story. How elements are used (overlay, actuality, interview, narration, PTC, graphics, sound, music) and when (the order of delivery between story elements and structure) will determine story bounce.
PTC
Stand-up or Piece to Camera
Shot at location and used to provide information where no other vision exists; set the reporter in a location; compress or exapdn a level of information; highlight or introduce a character or make a point; people speak directly to the audience through the camera.
Actuality
the video content that you don’t need to set up. E.g. police at an accident scene.
Overlay (B roll)
supplementary recordings (useful for overlapping sequences)
MOJO checklist

- Who are the characters and who will I interview?
- What about the subject matter and the resolution?
- What actuality will I film?
- What is the first impression a viewer will get?
- What will the body of the story look like?
- How will I integrate visuals, voice, and graphics?
- When did the story happen and can I write it in such a way that makes it current?
- Have I used active voice in the narration where possible?
- How will I produce the story?
- My audience will want links to other information on the topic? How will I provide these?
- Do you know If the sites I am recommending are reputable?
