Where should large volumes of irritating substances be IM injected? Why?
A
Quadriceps. Injection into posterior thigh may be carried to sciatic nerve which lies posterior to femur.

What are standard sites for intraosseous access?
A
Medial tibia (most common), humeral head, and sternum.

How are tibial IO needles placed?
A
Set perpendicular to the shaft of the tibia and in the proximal third of the bone, medial to the tibial plateau.
