Hick’s Law states that as the number of stimulus-response choices increases, reaction time also increases. This means athletes take longer to respond when there are more possible decisions. It’s especially relevant in open or complex sporting situations.

In tennis, if a player expects a serve to go to only one area, their reaction time is faster. More serve options = slower response due to more choices.
