OOT
A
OOT is thrust that results in the minimum runway required for takeoff based on engine failure at the most critical point of the take off. OOT is as follows:
- less than takeoff rated thrust if Vmcg is greater than Vcef at takeoff rated thrust
- Takeoff rated thrust if Vmcg is less than or equal to Vcef
Note:
- inboard engine thrust is always takeoff rated thrust
- optimum outboard engine thrust is never less than 63.5% of takeoff rated thrust, since at this thrust the turning effect caused by the loss of either an outboard or inboard engine is equal; therefore, Vmcg becomes a function of both inboard and outboard engine thrust.
