Seeking employment based training or apprenticeships at the age of 16 enable them to combine study with a placement provided by an employer
Sixth form colleges
Larger than sixth form schools and offer a wider range of courses
Special colleges
Could be residential and focused on the young people with SEND needs
Specialist colleges
Focus on a particular specialist subject area such as agriculture
Higher education institutions
Universities offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs of study which can be taken following A levels or other level 3 qualifications
