Barefoot doctors

A

Much cheaper and quicker than training an fully qualified doctor and covers a wider area. Doctors are elected by villages so fully trusted in community. Reduces burden on hospitals. It was uneffective as their was a lack of volunteers who are willing to do community work instead of going private.
There is a lack of funding in local community to pay, as rural health systems have been privatised.
