A

white clover is a plant that can produce substances that are toxic to cattle. Cattle start to eat lots of white clover when fields are overgrazed - the white clover responds by producing toxins, to avoid being eaten.

A

carrots produce antifreeze proteins at low temperatures - the proteins bind to ice crystals and lower the temperature at which water freezes, stopping more water crystals from growing.
