Rubella virus
Droplet transmission from coughs and sneezes and direct contact
Incubation

Signs and symptoms
A
Macropapular pink/light red rash - begins on the ears and neck before spreading down the body to the trunk and limbs. Rash lasts 3-5 days
Very small red-pink spots which blanch with pressure, unlike measles, rubella don’t merge
Cold like symptoms

Self care
A
Stay away from work/school for at least 4 dats. Adequate fluids, cotton wool soaked in water - remove crust from eye lids

Treatment
A
Paracetamol and ibuprofen
