What are the Causes?
Paravirus B - Viral - droplet or direct contact.
What is its epidemiology ?
Common in children, uncommon in adults and infants younger than 1 y/o but can affect all ages
What are the signs and symptoms?
Fever, Flu like symptoms - Slapped red checks - could be present all over legs and body too
What is the treatment?
Self limiting and mends on its own - paracetamol or antihistamines and calamine/emollient
What is the age limit for Piriton?
1 y/o liquid
What is piriton?
Chlorphenamine - sedating
What is the cetirizine age limit?
2 y/o liquid, 6 y/o tablets , less sedating =RASH = Not contagious so can go to school
What are the red flags?
PIPE B - Pregnancy, immunosuppressed,purple rashes, extremely unwell, Blood disorders
