What is the pH of pure water?
If you blew down a straw, what would happen to the pH of the water?
pH level goes down in acidity due to carbonic acid in CO2
If ypu were to spin a tube of blood in this centrufruge, what would be the results and why would this test be done?
the blood will separate into layers. RBC, buff and plasma. Test is done to see RBC count in blood amd diagnose certain conditions such as anaemia, polycythemia.
After completion of mitosis, how many daughter cells will there be?
What is the purpose of mitosis?
growth and replacement of worn out cells
What is the purpose of grain staining?
to make bacteria visable and group into positive or negative.
What are the types of bacteria?
rods, cocci and spiral
What part of the bacteria cell is stained?
Why dont antibiotics work against viruses?
Viruses dont contain cellular machinery
Why shouldn't you use someone elses antibiotics for your infection?
They might not be specific to your infection
What are the lobes of the brain?
Frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal
Would you expect to find the broccas area and wernickes area on the left or right hemispheres if the brain?
