Glenohumeral ligament
-Stabilises the joint capsule
-Ball and socket joint
- most stable joint in the body
-Origin: Glenoid labrum/ scapular
-insertion: anatomical neck of humerus
Coracoacromial ligament
-Forms arch over humeral head
-origin: top of acromion, in front of the articular surface of the clavicle
-insertion: lateral border of coracoid process
Coracoclavicular ligament (trapezoid and conoid parts)
-Stabilises AC joint
-Origin: coracoid process
-insertion: clavicle
Joint capsule
-Encloses the glenohumeral joint
-origin: glenoid rim
-insertion: humeral neck
Acromioclavicular ligament
-origin: acromion
-insertion: clavicle
Sternoclavicular ligament
-origin: sternum
-insertion: clavicle
Costcoclavicular ligament
-Origin: first rib
-Insertion: clavicle
Interclavicular ligament
-origin: clavicle (one side)
-insertion: clavicle (opposite side), across sternum
Coracohumeral ligament
-Origin: coracoid process (scapular)
-insertion: greater tubercle of humerus
