What is social change?
-when a whole society changes
-usually happens through minority influence
what are the social influence processes that cause social change?

what is meant by drawing attention?
.the minority will campaign or protest to make others aware of the issue eg-suffragettes chained themselves outside parliament
what is meant by consistency?
.the same message over time and between minority members so the message is not diluted and remembered eg-votes for women for 15 years
what is meant by cognitive conflict?
.an argument in your mind that makes others think deeply about the issue eg -people thought women were stupid but actually have they got a point which makes them have conflict in their mind making them think more deeply
what is meant by augmentation?
.making sacrifices to show your commitment ensuring you get taken seriously eg -Emily Davison killed by the kings horse
What is the snowball effect?
.the tipping point where the minority become the majority eg- getting the vote
What is social crypto-amnesia?
-people know the change has taken place but forget the origin or why it happened or life before it eg- no one being surprised when women vote
What must happen for social change to happen?
-majority must be convinced through the minority influence processes
