Cockpit Lighting
(PANEL, FLOOD and AUX lighting) is controlled by rheostats on the overhead Lights Panel.
Map light, PFD and PDF GTC lighting intensity is controlled by rheostats on the left and right tilt panels.
MFD and MFD GTC lighting intensity is controlled by similar knobs located in the upper left corner of the center pedestal above the SECONDARY TRIM controls.
Aux Rheostat
LED lights under the glareshield provide indirect lighting for the instrument panel.
Day/Night Selection
Made using the PANEL lights rheostat on the overhead lighting panel.
Panel Lights (Day Selection)
Bypasses the PANEL rheostat and illuminates all buttons to their maximum intensity.
Panel Lights (Out of Day Selection)
Dims the buttons, and routes power to the PANEL rheostat for light intensity control.
Cabin Lighting
Reading and table lights for each seat are controlled by touch panels on the sidewalls next to each passenger seat.
Cabin Entry Lights
Pressing the cabin ENTRY button on the master control switch panel or the button next to the main cabin entry door, illuminates the following lights:
Overhead seat/table lights above Seat 8, Seat 3, Seat 7 and the toilet.
Step lights on the stairs.
Cabin Entry Lights Power Source
Right battery bus. A timer automatically turns the lights off after approximately 15 minutes of use.
Aisle Lights
Aisle lighting is provided through toekick lights under selected cabin seats.
Aft Vanity Lights
A touch activated control panel in the aft vanity area controls various necessities such as lights and water temperature.
Refreshment Center Lights
Refreshment center lights illuminate as the refreshment center door is opened.
Passenger Advisory Lights
Passenger advisory lights consist of Passenger Safety lights controlled by the PAX SAFETY button and Fasten Seat Belt lights controlled by the SEAT BELTS button.
Cockpit EMER LTS are in ARM
Pressing the PAX SAFETY button to ON activates the following:
No-smoking signs.
Emergency lighting.
SEAT BELTS button (ON)
Illuminates the fasten seat belt signs and activates a two-tone chime.
SEAT BELTS button (OFF)
Extinguishes the fasten seat belts signs and activates a single chime.
Emergency Lighting
Provides illumination for emergency situations during night or conditions of reduced visibility.
The lights are powered from the emergency buses. If a complete loss of electrical power occurs, the lights are powered by four dedicated emergency battery packs in the cabin.
The battery packs are continuously charged to capacity with DC power from the emergency buses.
The emergency lighting load is shared between the packs to ensure adequate lighting in case one or more battery packs fail.
Emergency Interior Lights
5 No Smoking/Fasten Seat Belt Signs (Over 4 tables and on LH Aft Divider)
Return to Seat Sign (RH Aft Divider)
3 Exit Signs (Cabin Door, Forward side of Aft Divider, Escape Hatch)
3 Exit Indicators (Forward and Aft of Cabin Door, Escape Hatch)
5 Toe kick Lights - pathway lighting (Below Seats 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10)
4 Reading Lights (Above Seats 3, 7, the Toilet, and 10)
Exterior Emergency Lights
A single emergency light on the right side of the fuselage lights the top of the right wing. The light provides illumination of the over-wing escape route.
The right-wing inspection light serves a dual purpose as an emergency light. It illuminates the first step to the ground from the non-slip strip on the wing.
The left-wing inspection light illuminates the area in front of the cabin door to assist in emergency evacuation.
Emergency Lighting System
Controlled by a three-position EMER LTS switch on the LIGHTS control panel.
EMER LTS (ARM)
Provides automatic activation when:
Loss of main DC power
5-G impact (Cannot be turned off)
PAX SAFETY button ON
EMER LTS (ON)
Manual activation.
EMER LTS (OFF)
System deactivation.
Cabin Emergency Lighting System Power Source
Powered with emergency bus power.
Cabin Emergency Lighting System Duration
Main DC power available: System can operate indefinitely.
Emergency lighting battery packs only: 10-minute duration minimum.
