works alongside nervous system to control bodily functions - made up of glands that produce hormones

what are some examples of glands in the endocrine system?

A

pituitary gland (brain) = ‘master gland’ that monitors all other glands
pineal gland (brain) = converts serotonin into melatonin - makes us sleep
thyroid gland = produces thyroxin to regulate growth
adrenal gland = releases adrenaline and noradrenaline to trigger biological processes
