Why is teamwork important?
because often tasks cannot be completed by one individual and instead may be more efficient to assign a number of people to complete a task.
The team will benefit from the diverse skills and knowledge of its members.

What are functional teams?
Comprised of individuals from the same department working together, with a leader whom members report to and who allocates responsibilities.
What are cross-function teams?
comprised of individuals from different departements working with a leader whom meberes report to and who allocated responsibilities
What are problem-solving teams?
comprise individuals working on a specific problem, with a leader whom members report to and who allocates responsibilities.
What are virtual teams?
comprised of individuals working in seperate locations through the use of technology.
What are self-managed teams?
comprised of individuals who work together towards a common goal but are responsible for managing themselves.

- Forming or training
- Storming

What is forming or training in terms of teamwork?
The initial stage when team members meet. they will be brifed on the purpose and working parameters and are highly motivated.
What is Storming in terms of teamwork?
Sharing different perspectives and views. May result in complict or disagreement. Members must learn to collaborate and overcome disagreements
What is norming in terms of teamwork?
When the team members overcome internal challanges and are communicationg effectively. A team leader will be appointed
What is performing in terms of teamwork?
starting to perfrom cohesively, is clear on working relationships and focused on producing results. Have shared ownership and value team membership.
What is adjourning or dissolution in terms of team work?
work is nearly complete. normally occurs naturally, may be reached if the team needs to be restrutured for organisation or business reasons.
