what is the structure of the normal oesophagus and what are the two sphincters
25cm long muscular tube, squamous epithelium
upper sphincter - cricopharnegeal
lower - gastro-oesophgheal junction
what are the two types of oesophagitis
infectious - bacterial, vital (HSV1, CMV), fungal (candida)
chemical most common - corrosive ingestion, gastric reflux
