- characterized by less hemoglobin + RBC’s than normal; caused by weakening or destruction of RBC’s

disorder of nervous system characterized by inability to perform purposeful movement

condition involving partial loss of coordinated movement (you can make the movement, but not well)

a connection of normally separated parts; could be naturally occuring (e.g. non-terminal arteries) or artificial (e.g. surgical)

- excessive or abnormal hair growth

- genetic condition (autosomal recessive) that affects the body’s ability to move mucous b/c the cell’s sodium pump is defective (can perform a “salt test”)
- affects lungs, pancreas, liver, intestines, and reproductive system

thrombophlebitis
- swelling or inflammation of vein caused by blood clot (deep or artificial)
- aka “economy class syndrome”

urticaria
hives; itchy, swollen red areas of skin that appear as an allergic reaction
“urtica” = stinging nettle
seborrhea
- excessive discharge of sebum from sebaceous glands
- creates excessive oiliness or scaling
"sebo" = grease "rrhea" = flow
logorrhea
“diarrhea of the mouth”
teratogenic
- relating to or causing malformations of a fetus – e.g. teeth growing on skin of fetus
- caused by toxic agents like thalidomide

- aka “little eyes”
- a mostly congential condition resulting in abnormal narrowness of space between the eyes
"phimosis" = restriction, incomplete occlusion "blepharo" = eyelid

surgical incision or digital disruption of components of a commssure to increase size of an orifice – i.e. procedure for stenotic mitral valve
