What is PTS?
A
A qualification required by people who go on the line, go within 3 metres of the line, carry out technical or engineering work in a platform with 1.25m of its edge

What are your responsibilities as a conductor with PTS?
A
To be medically fit
Take periodical medical assessments and eye examinations
Inform your employer of any medication you are taking or any medical conditions you have
Wear glasses / hearing aid if required
Comply with the drugs and alcohol policy

What is required for a conductor to do when it comes to PTS?
A
Prepare trains and door test trains in depots, sidings and middle roads
Change train ends one the track
Deal with out of course situations
Carry out evacuations
Protect the line
