What is Arabic?

Arabic is a Central Semitic language and the official language of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Yemen.

With around 280 million speakers, Arabic is the fifth major language spoken globally, both in terms of approximately 315 million native speakers and 450 million total speakers, which includes those that speak Arabic as a second language.

Arabic majors may consider a number of career paths after graduation. Interpreters and translators are highly prized and many graduates may become involved in international business. Graduates can also seek a number of roles such as Foreign Exchange Trader, College Professor, National Security Agent, and International Relations Consultant.

Cognitive scientists working with Brainscape have developed the Confidence-Based Repetition (CBR) system that’s transforming the way people are learning.

The CBR system incorporates active recall, spaced repetition, and active recall making it the most powerful learning engine on the planet. Driven by the users metacognitive responses, the algorithm precisely orders the flashcard sequence for optimal learning so you never waste a second.
