2. ICS: Preventer: Beclomethasone (corticosteroids reduce inflammation by reducing inflammatory mediators)
3. SAMA ( Ipratropium, SE blurred vision, dizziness) or LAMA: or Glycopyrronium
4. LABA (Symptom control)Long-acting bronchodilator Ex: Formoterol or Salmeterol.
   Combination therapy: SABA+SAMA or LABA+ICS or LABA+LAMA

Reminders, Councelling

Red flag: distressed, gasping for breath, having difficulty speaking two words and is blue around the mouth.

Asthma First aid needed:
S = Sit. Sit the person and stay with them. Reassure them calmly.

T = Treat With reliever inhalers: Symbicort, Vannair, DuoResp Spiromax, Ventolin, Respigen, SalAir or Bricanyl.

H = Help. If the person is not improving, call an ambulance immediately on 111. Continue to use the reliever inhaler every few minutes until help arrives.

M = Monitor

If the person is improving, keep monitoring them. If necessary, repeat doses of the reliever inhaler.
If the person is not improving, continue to use the reliever inhaler every few minutes until help arrives.

A = All OK!

When the person is free of wheezing, cough, or breathlessness, they can return to quiet activity.

If symptoms recur, repeat treatment and rest. It is important to always see a doctor after an asthma attack.

How to use Spacer?

REMOVE the inhaler cap and shake it well , insert to the spacer, place lips around the mouthpiece, press puffer, breath
in and out normally through 5 times. If more than one puff is required , repeat the steps above. Cleaning: wash in soapy water , allow air to dry.
