Circulatory Sytem Flashcards
1
Q
What is the flow of deoxygenated blood in the heart
A
- Deoxygenated Blood enters the superior and inferior Vena Cavas
- Deoxygenated blood flows into the right atrium, through the Tricuspid(AV) Valve, and into the right ventricle
- Deoxygenated blood flows past the semi-lunar valve, out the pulmonary artery, to the lungs
2
Q
what is the flow of oxygenated blood in the heart
A
- Oxygenated blood returns to heart from lungs via pulmonary veins
- Oxygenated blood flows to left atrium, through the bicuspid valve, into the left ventricle
- oxygenated blood flows past semi-lunar valve, into the aorta, and out of the body
3
Q
Be able to label a heart diagram
A
Could u do it
4
Q
Label the electrical system of the heart
A
Could u do it?
5
Q
What is the flow of electricity in the heart
A
- The SA node sends an electrical signal to the atria to make them contract
- The AV node sends an electric signal to the Bundle of His and Purkinje Fibers
- The Bundle of His and Purkinje Fibers transfer the electrical signal to the Ventricles to make them contract
6
Q
What is the letter complex on an ECG wave (P, QRS, T)
A
P - Atrial excitation begins and atria contract, AV valves open, semilunar valves close. Trap blood in the ventricles.
QRS - Ventricular excitation and ventricles contrast, AV valves (bicuspid and tricuspid) close. Semilunar valves forced open by ventricular contraction. Blood empties from ventricles.
T - Ventricles relax, AV valves open, semilunar valves closed
