Q

What is a primate city?

A

Primate cities are cities with a large population, and the largest population of the country and usually influence too. In a primate city, there is likely to be government headquarters where officials are attracted and investments are made. Decisions made can affect global affairs. TNCs also mean the countries economy and services are improved and constantly increasing. There is usually better education, which leads to a further development of jobs and job roles (more people are attracted to a range of new jobs and new skills), especially in healthcare - as improving the service there will lead to a better quality of life.
