Henry broke with Rome and dismissed Cardinal Wolsey, he appointed Thomas Cromwell as his chief advisor and to introduce his policies.

Edward became king at 9 years of age so a group of noble men ran the country for him. They were Protestant and allowed Thomas Cranmer to introduce Protestant beliefs into the Church of England. Edward approved these changes but died at 15 in 1553
