etiology of pneumonia

A
  • microbial:– USUALLY BACTERIAL also can be viruses & fungi as well–community & hospital acquired (nossocomal)
  • noxious fumes (has to get into lungs to cause inflm) ex. dust particles, smoke
  • aspiration

  • agent enters lungs
  • Inflammation–edema—impaired gas exchange

  • fever
  • dyspnea
  • sputum
  • headache
  • chest pain
  • there will be areas of consolidation (going to have exudate, areas & inflm & inflm of debris, solidifys & causes consolidation)
