Cruise checks PF

A

Review FUEL and other ECAM status. Generically monitor radar tilt, cabin temps, and Nav accuracy. Nav accuracy can be checked using the prog page and entering a Navaid, or by manually tuning on into the rad Nav page. Check the needle overlies the blue Navaid symbol. See OPSB for further info.

Q

Descent PREPARATION PM

A

CONFIRM LANDING PERFORMANCE (If dest info diff from plan, I.e. Weather conditions. Use EFB to recalculate) Check weather reports at ALTERNATE and DESTINATION airports. Airfield data should include runway in use for arrival. Preset the destination QNH on the ISIS and PFDs. This should be done as a closed loop action reverting to STD setting and should not be done in descent when approaching a level off to avoid unwanted ALT* activation. WHEN PF COMPLETES FMGS PROG, CONFIRM GAIN DESCENT CLEARANCE ANTI ICE AS REQUIRED.

ILS APPROACH to LOC intercept.

A

The Approach Phase should automatically be activated if in NAV Mode. If in HDG / TRK Mode activate approach about 15nms from touchdown and confirm APPROACH PHASE on the MCDU. PF: “Activate Approach” or “Approach Phase activated” PM: “Approach Phase Activated” or “Checked” When on an intercept heading for final approach track: PF: “Flaps 1” (should be configured prior to LOC intercept) PM: “Speed checked” Selects flap, checks flap setting on ECAM & calls “Flaps 1” Check deceleration to ‘S’ speed. A/C must reach or be established on LOC with Flaps 1 and ‘S’ speed. When cleared for the approach: PF: Pushes APPR button and engages both autopilots and calls PF: “LOC Blue, G/S Blue, Cat 3 Single / Dual, AP 1 and 2” as appropriate PM: “Checked”

ILS APPROACH FROM LOC INTERCEPT to GEAR DN

A

Monitor Localiser capture and then: PF: “LOC STAR” PM: “Checked” When at 2000ft above TDZE or 1 dot below the GS when intercepting below 2000ft: PF: “Flaps 2” PM: “Speed checked” Selects Flap 2, calls “Flaps 2”. If a specific speed is required by ATC (say 160 kts) then PF selects the speed on the FCU. Monitor Glideslope capture and then: PF: “G/S STAR” and “Set G/A Altitude____ft” PM: “Check” and “G/A Altitude_____set” When Flaps 2 have been set and by no later than 2000ft above threshold elevation: PF: “Gear Down” PM: Selects Gear Down and calls “Gear Down” then Arms Spoilers, Turns ON runway turn off and taxi Lights and confirms Autobrakes are set as required.
