What are the benefits of accident reporting? (5)
A
- Ability to assess significance & acceptability of accident rates by comparing with similar activities to estimate what can normally be expected
- Ability to compare accidents and accident rates across the MOD and with other industry
- Identify accidents where preventative measures can be taken
- To ease reporting locally and externally to HSE
- Identify accidents which require resolution, policy change and funding

A
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations

Who holds responsibility for reporting accidents? (1)
A
The line manager or individual in charge of the area where accident occurred. If they cannot be identified, then the responsibility lies with the individual’s line manager.

Within 10 consecutive days
